We may have repudiated Trump with a blue wave in the House, Senate, and White House, but his influence lives on in state parties. According to the New York Times, "Pennsylvania G.O.P. leaders have made loyalty to the defeated ex-president the sole organizing principle of the party, and would-be candidates are jockeying to prove they fought the hardest for him."

There's even rumors that Donald Trump Jr. could run for office in PA -- and if that's who down-ballot contenders are testing their allegiance against, we're in for a 2022 election cycle filled with even more Trumpism than 2020.

Trump no longer has a hold on our government and our country -- officially. But this loyalist phenomenon isn't unique to Pennsylvania. State parties all over the country are elevating far-right candidates who spout QAnon conspiracy theories and believe the election was stolen from their darling demagogue.

It's looking like whoever demonstrates the most loyalty to Trump in the next year will be on the ballot in 2022 -- and we need to be prepared to outspend, out-advertise, and outvote them when the time comes. We can do that by finding and funding stellar Democratic candidates nationwide. That work should be starting now, but our fundraising efforts have stalled.
