Welcome to another edition of FT Now! This was another big week in the news, so let’s get right to business! More revelations are coming to light from the bombshell report about Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s negligence in his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York. In the world of liberal hypocrisy, John Kerry - President Biden’s new climate czar - took a private jet to Iceland in 2019 to receive an award for climate leadership (talk about out of touch!). Last but not least, Florida Gov. Ron Desantis has launched an attack on Big Tech in hopes to condemn their many power abuses. Read below for more!

Andrew Cuomo Was a Villain All Along |
What Happened: |
Fallout continues from the bombshell report released last week about New York’s underreporting of COVID-19 nursing home deaths under Gov. Cuomo’s leadership. The Democrat Governor’s lack of transparency about the data is astounding, and we now know that nine leading healthcare professionals resigned last summer and fall over his COVID politicization. |
Why You Should Care: |
Governor Cuomo prioritized politics over honesty and transparency, and continued to deny any wrongdoing while elderly New Yorkers died in the worst months of the COVID-19 pandemic last year. It is time for the media to stop glorifying the Governor and hold him accountable for his deceit, political maneuvering, and irresponsibility. |
What Happens Next: |
Will the national media and public rightfully call out Governor Cuomo? That remains to be seen, but this bombshell report undeniably shows that they must. |

John Kerry took private jet to Iceland for environmental award, called it 'only choice for somebody like me' |
What Happened: |
John Kerry travelled to Iceland in 2019 on his private jet - a major carbon-emitter - to receive an award for "climate leadership." Seriously? When criticized by the Icelandic press, Kerry described himself as the frontline in America’s fight against climate change. Taking a private jet is the only way to travel for someone as important as him, right? (note the sarcasm) |
Why You Should Care: |
Private jets emit more than 40 times the carbon per passenger as commercial flights do. If Kerry truly cared about combating climate change, wouldn’t he start by making changes in his personal life? In reality, he is just another elitist. |
What Happens Next: |
It is doubtful that the national media will call out Kerry for his blatant hypocrisy, and the climate czar will likely continue to live in privilege and conceit. |

Gov. DeSantis Leads Florida Lawmakers In Penalizing Big Tech Overlords: ‘You Can Whiz On My Leg, But Don’t Tell Me It’s Raining’ |
What Happened: |
Florida Governor Ron Desantis, with GOP lawmakers in his state, are working to condemn Big Tech companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon for abuses of power like censorship, de-platforming, and election interference. |
Why You Should Care: |
The proposed legislation would both protect Floridians’ online privacy and penalize Big Tech companies. If passed, Big Tech companies would be fined $100,000 if they deplatform any Florida candidate during an election cycle. Among other mandates, the tech companies would also have to provide full transparency and record any promotions of political candidates as campaign contributions with the state. Desantis’ legislation is his reaction to four years of Big Tech bias and unchecked power. |
What Happens Next: |
It remains to be seen if this legislation will pass and the power of Big Tech will be reigned in. |
