John,

As we continue to fight COVID-19, experts and data tell us that this is not the last global pandemic we will experience.

That's why Mike, along with World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is calling on world leaders to begin preparing for future pandemics -- starting today.

Check out the op-ed Mike and Dr. Tedros published this morning.

Mike shared today's message after being confirmed for a third term as a World Health Organization Global Ambassador for Noncommunicable Diseases and Injuries -- a role where he can help lead the global community in vital public health efforts at a time when the challenges of noncommunicable diseases are magnified by COVID-19.

As Mike and Dr. Tedros write, we already know what we need to minimize the next pandemic: greater investments in research; better information sharing; enhanced cooperation across borders; and support for the most vulnerable.

All of these changes are necessary to protect the world from repeating what we endured over the past year.

Mike and Dr. Tedros are encouraging global leaders to begin preparing now for a better future. Read the op-ed and share it to join in calling for action today.
