It's a tale as old as time: big promises, critical agenda items, bureaucratic gridlock, and grandstanding. Needless to say, Marco loves it: the filibuster.

It's time to put an end to the power one Senator to stifle the will of the people and return representation to the people. It's time to end the filibuster.

Aside from misappropriating Jay-Z lyrics, Marco Rubio and other Senators use it to quite literally talk a bill to death. That means reading out of a phonebook until they’re blue in the face, all while Americans wait for critical decisions on topics like health care, civil rights, and even Supreme Court nominees.

The filibuster is in the headlines because for the first time in a decade, Democrats control all three federal lawmaking offices: The House, the Senate, and the presidency.

Eliminating the need for cloture (the 60+ votes to end a filibuster) could be essential to getting things done in the first two years of the Biden presidency. It could also be detrimental to efforts to resist legislation down the line. Join the fight, John. Sign the petition, end the gridlock, and abolish the filibuster.
