Twin Ports DSA Members and Associates:
Our Ecosocialist Working Group has updated our chapter statement against Line 3. Not only that, they forwarded it to every DSA chapter and working group in the state and got them to sign on after feedback and editing. Please read the pdf here, and feel free to share.
There is a local Line 3 "die in" and mutual aid event this morning, if you read this email in time (not our event, but organized by local Line 3 activists). From 10 am - 11:30 am, 1313 Belknap St, Superior. I'll paste additional info below:
"Show solidarity for Indigenous-led resistance to Line 3. Let's call Line 3 what it is: a biohazard. We will assemble peacefully and "die-in".
Wear a mask and practice social distancing.
If you are able, please bring donations for Camp Miigizi and frontline Water Protectors. Their ongoing needs are:
-Healthy nonperishable food and tea
-Toilet paper
-Wool socks/hats/gloves
-Blankets
-Firewood"
In solidarity,
John Krumm
TPDSA Secretary
