Donald Trump’s administration weaponized capital punishment with callous disregard for human life. It murdered thirteen people from July 2020 through the end of his presidency. No President in more than a century oversaw so many executions.

With one stroke of his pen, President Biden has the power to commute all of the sentences of people currently on death row to life without parole and prohibit federal attorneys from seeking the death penalty.
