Check it out,

Nick

P.S. Consider chipping in $3 to sponsor a letter, it would be a huge help in this initial phase of voter education.

Dear Friend,

Our hard work this past election cycle has yielded amazing results: a Democratic House, Senate, and White House. We should celebrate this amazing accomplishment, but this is no time to rest.

The recent attacks on our democracy have shown that we must keep up the fight and defend our majorities. The stakes are just too high to slow down as key 2022 Senate contests already loom large.

These races will determine whether Joe Biden can expand his governing coalition to deliver progress for the American people, fight back against the Trump-era GOP's obstruction and extremism, and rebuild an enduring democracy.

I’m sure, like me, you were deeply disturbed by the attack on the Capitol by Trump’s mob of far-right extremists. As our leaders attempted to carry out their duty to certify President Joe Biden’s electoral victory in a free and fair election, Trump was inciting his followers to storm Congress and violently halt the process. I am horrified that this could happen in America.

One particular senator doesn’t seem too bothered by this attack on democracy: Marco Rubio.

Sure, he wagged his finger at those participating in the riots, but he still has not explicitly condemned Trump for lying to the public and inciting the mob attack. Instead of standing up to Trump when he lied to his supporters and insisted he won, Rubio backed him at every turn, from the frivolous lawsuits to the threatening phone calls to state election officials demanding that they “find votes” for him.

Is Rubio’s loyalty to the Constitution and the people of Florida, or to Donald Trump and his mob?

It’s clear that Marco Rubio has got to go. That’s why just hours after polls closed on Election Day, Retire Rubio got to work to start laying the foundation for a competitive 2022 Senate election in Florida.

I want to ask you to get in early, and make a donation of $35, $50, $100 or whatever you can contribute today, so we can get a head start on organizing to get Marco Rubio and his astoundingly out-of-step positions off of the Senate floor. Please mail a check using the enclosed envelope or give rubiosretirementfund.com.

Your support will allow us to get out right now to organize, build a base of support and create fertile ground for a competitive environment even before a field of candidates has emerged so they can run the strongest races possible.

The national 2022 political map suggests an opportunity for increasing the number of Senate Democrats. Twenty-one Republican incumbents will be up for reelection and could face serious challenges, creating a national drain on Republican resources and an opportunity for challengers. At the same time, though, the party in the White House historically loses seats in midterm elections, so it’s more critical that we start building this movement now.

For 10 years, Marco Rubio has repeatedly put his donors and corporate allies above the Floridians he serves.

After the tragic Parkland shooting that killed 17 people, Rubio blatantly refused to stop taking money from the NRA and did nothing to advocate for gun safety legislation.  A student who witnessed the shooting asked Rubio, at a town hall meeting, “In the name of 17 people you cannot ask the NRA to keep their money out of your campaign?”

Rubio responded, “There’s money on both sides of every issue in America. I will always accept the help of anyone who agrees with my agenda…. People buy into my agenda and I do support the 2nd amendment.”

That’s just the beginning. It’s almost hard to believe – but upon examining Rubio’s record, it’s not that surprising. It’s time to expose voters to his cronyism and weakness so they realize how important it is to vote Rubio out of office.

There's a lot more voters don't know, and Retire Rubio is committed to changing that. Please help us get this important initiative to the next level by contributing $35, $50, $100 or whatever you can today.

Clearly, we are in a dangerous time for America. We need strong leaders who can make tough decisions, even when those decisions are unpopular with their base.

But after a mob of Trump supporters dangerously and aggressively tried to run a Biden campaign bus off the road in the final weeks of the campaign, Rubio endorsed this dangerous behavior, saying, “Did you see it? All the cars on the road, we love what they did.”

After the 2020 election, he joined in the Big Lie, coyly questioning the election’s validity and giving legitimacy to Trump and other GOP members challenging results. Rubio’s silence and his refusal to publicly comment on how he would vote on the certification of election results until after the raid on the Capitol make him complicit in the attempted coup. Even now, he still won’t state explicitly that Biden won in a free and fair election, giving cover to extremists hell-bent on using violence to undermine our democracy.

Meanwhile, Rubio is turning his back on Floridians.

Despite representing the state with the highest percentage of seniors, he's supported harmful cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

And even though Florida is already feeling the effects of climate change, it’s no surprise that Rubio, after taking millions of dollars from energy interests, has one of the worst environmental records in the Senate.

He also has one of the worst attendance records in the Senate.

These are just some of the many ways that he has failed Floridians. We plan on making the case early and often that Marco Rubio needs to go in November of 2022. The challenge will be competing against misinformation from the right and Florida's primary schedule.

Florida’s political calendar features an August primary – resulting in the field not being narrowed until the final months, making it difficult for challengers to define themselves to voters in the final weeks of the campaign. That’s why we’re starting now, so we can help the eventual Democratic nominee in their fight to flip this seat.

By starting our fundraising efforts early, Retire Rubio is starting work now to educate voters about Marco Rubio's record, before his side can define the narrative. We are a grassroots movement working with guidance from experienced and innovative political strategists. Personally, I have a long history of success in statewide campaigns in Florida – including Nick Duran’s reelection campaign and the passing of an initiative to raise Florida’s minimum wage to $15/ hour.

It’s time to shine a light on Rubio’s 10-year record of putting political expediency and self-interest before the needs of his constituents and the nation. But to do so, we need your help, because we know Rubio's deep-pocketed allies are going to spend relentlessly for his reelection. Will you join our movement by making a $35, $50, $100 or more donation today?

Our nation is at a defining moment, and we need leaders who will protect our democratic norms and values, put science and data ahead of corporate interests and help working families get a fair shot.  We need senators with strength of conviction, strong beliefs and guiding principles. To achieve our full potential, senators like Marco Rubio have to go.

We appreciate your support.
