John,
Today, we join a chorus of millions of voices around the world in commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day. We mourn the 6 million lives lost, and we continue to uphold our commitment to ending antisemitism in all of its forms, and acknowledging that the fight against hate is far from over.
Antisemitism is as insidious as it is destructive. It's persistent, and it can manifest itself in many forms. For the past four years, we've had to endure an administration that refused to denounce those emboldened by antisemitism and racism. And just this month, we saw anti-semetic nationalists storm the Capitol in a violent insurrection.
Defeating antisemitism, in all of its forms, will take all of us. We must continue to fight against all forms of bigotry and intolerance, and we must never forget the atrocities of the Holocaust to assure that it will never happen again.
In the words of Elie Weisel, we must "swear to never be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation."
Let's work to continue breaking the chains of racism and antisemitism in our country, and stand against bigotry, injustice, and hate in all its forms.
Peace and love,
Jamaal Bowman
