Take action and urge mayors to join this new campaign from The U.S. Conference of Mayors and AJC

Dear John,
Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, AJC and The U.S. Conference of Mayors are launching Mayors United Against Antisemitism, a joint initiative to combat rising Jew-hatred.

History teaches us that antisemitism must be confronted before it can spread out of control. Our leaders must take a stand against this rising wave of hate which doesn’t only just threaten Jews, but tears at the health of our very democracy.

Click here to urge mayors around the country to take action and declare unequivocally that antisemitism is incompatible with democratic values that are at the very bedrock of our society.

Take Action
According to the FBI 2019 Hate Crimes Statistics, American Jews—who make up less than 2% of the American population—were the victims of more than 60% of hate crimes targeting a religious group. And yet, according to AJC’s recent landmark State of Antisemitism in America 2020 report, nearly 46% of Americans are not even familiar with the term antisemitism.

Antisemitism is not just a Jewish problem—it’s a societal one. While the Jewish community may be the initial target, this kind of hatred and violence quickly spreads to other vulnerable minorities here in the United States and around the world.

Join AJC and The U.S. Conference of Mayors in urging mayors to speak out against the growing threat of antisemitism and thanking those who have.

Sincerely,

Melanie Maron Pell
