Reimagine Wisconsin's Economy to Put People First

Everyone in Wisconsin deserves to be valued, to be able to provide for their family, and to contribute to their community. But the intertwined challenges of the pandemic, the recession, and racial injustice have laid bare the degree to which we need to transform Wisconsin’s economy before we can say that everyone has access to opportunity.

We shouldn’t—and in fact we can’t—try to rebuild our economy the way it was before the pandemic. To do so would be to buy back into a system purposefully designed to systematically marginalize people of color and enrich only a few.

Instead, we must use this moment to pass common-sense reforms that support workers and boost the economy, rather than favoring corporate handouts and loopholes for the powerful and well-connected.

Our new budget agenda, Reimagine Wisconsin, lays out key strategies for transforming our economy and putting people first. To do that, Wisconsin needs to:

  • Ensure that everyone has quality, affordable health care;
  • Require businesses to provide paid sick leave and family leave;
  • Improve access to child care;
  • Increase the minimum wage; and
  • Lift limitations on who can get a driver's license.

To remake Wisconsin, all of us need to reimagine a new economy for our state and our communities. Go to reimaginewisconsin.org for more.
