We know you're feeling hopeful. We are too. Because of Democrats like you and years of concentrated work, organizing, and advocacy, we took back the White House and the Senate, and we can dream of a more united country. A more progressive country.
But that dream is still in the making, Democrat. Right before jetting off to retirement, and in the style of successful authoritarians, Donald Trump and the worst of his loyalists left a promise: “We will be back in some form.”
It's not just Trump we're worried about. It's the extremists he has inspired across the country. It's the Marjorie Taylor Greenes and Josh Hawleys who are slowly rising to power in local, state, and federal office while we aren't looking.
It's The Washington Post's observation that “Republicans are closer to winning back the House and Senate majority than any defeated party in 20 years.”
While we're patting ourselves on the back, Republicans are organizing, strategizing, and funnelling millions through dark money groups to block a progressive agenda and take back Washington.
And yet right when we need to strengthen our party the most, Democrats have stopped giving, and we're already falling $1,921 short of our first goal under the Biden-Harris administration.
