Hello John

We’re part of the End Child Poverty coalition, which brings together lots of organisations with the ambition of ending child poverty.

We all want to see a plan to end child poverty. The pandemic has made everyone more aware of just how precarious life is for children in low-income families, and the government must take more comprehensive action to tackle and prevent child poverty.

Will you meet your MP virtually to discuss this?

As a coalition, we’re organising a mass lobby of politicians – we’re keen for as many people as possible to meet with as many MPs as possible in the run up to Valentine’s Day with a message that the government needs to put tackling child poverty at the heart of its plans (and at the heart of March’s Budget in the short term).

Could you meet your MP virtually between 8-14 February?

In your meeting you could focus on the need for a proper plan to tackle child poverty, or the need for more investment in child benefit for example. There’s lots of information and support on the End Child Poverty website but I am also very happy to help with preparation for the meeting. Please just reply to this email.

We hope you’re able to take part in this ambitious and exciting mass action to send a strong message that the government must take urgent action on child poverty.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,

Lizzie
