We've got some good news -- President Joe Biden plans to administer 100 million doses of the COVID vaccine in his first 100 days in office.
A year of the Trump administration's pandemic mismanagement led to Biden ringing in his inauguration with a memorial to the more than 400,000 Americans who died due to the coronavirus. But we think the best way to memorialize these lives lost is by vaccinating 1 million people every day.
However, 100 days is a long time, and the situation is only growing worse across the country. People are growing weary of mask-wearing and social distancing, with disastrous effects: Los Angeles recently had to lift its air-quality-control limit on cremations to deal with the overwhelming number of deaths.
Friend, it's appalling that we've reached this point. We know that you're following public health guidelines and doing your best to keep your friends, neighbors, and community safe, but after a presidency that refused to treat the pandemic with gravity, it's not enough to personally set an example. We need to consolidate support behind Biden's plans and show that we stand behind our blue wave of public health leaders all across the country.
