During today’s inauguration President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn into office, marking the end of a difficult era and the beginning of a new chapter in our nation’s history.

Now we must meet the moment and rededicate our work to protect and strengthen our fundamental rights, build back our economy, and ensure we all come out of this pandemic as resilient as ever.

On day one, President Biden’s first executive actions include extending a federal eviction and foreclosure moratorium until the end of March, petitioning Congress to extend rental assistance to those in need and requesting the Department of Education to continue the pause on student loan payments until September.

He’ll also sign an executive action to stop funding and construction of a southern border wall. With these first steps, we can start down the path of unity toward a brighter future for our nation.

Please take this moment to celebrate and recognize the millions of people that came together in defense of our democracy to make this day possible. Know that we will never stop fighting for a more fair and just union.

Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we fight on.

Henry
