Hi team,

"I thought I was going to die," Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez said during a livestream one week after the Capitol was attacked. But the fear for her and her Democratic colleagues' safety has only escalated in the days leading up to Biden's inauguration.

House Democrats not only have had to deal with violent assassination attempts by far-right extremists but also the threat of their Republican colleagues, who now are refusing to comply with even the most routine of safety precautions.

The safety precautions Republicans representatives are so upset about? Being asked to leave their guns in their personal offices and walk through a metal detector.

We need to check in with our supporters and see where they stand. So please, let us know now:

Do you support increased Capitol security before the inauguration?
