Say No to Extremism and Guns!

According to an internal FBI bulletin, starting last week and running through at least Inauguration Day, armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols and at the U.S. Capitol. Thankfully, it is against the law to have a gun at a protest in NC. However, the law has not always been fully enforced.

That is why I am asking you to send an email to Senator Phil Berger and House Speaker Tim Moore urging them to take steps to ensure that demonstrators are not allowed to bring guns to protests.

While extremists say they are only exercising their 2nd amendment rights, carrying weapons at demonstrations is clearly intended to intimidate others. Should physical altercations occur, it elevates the level and lethality of violence involved.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood up against the tactics and ideology of these gun extremists. We honor his legacy today by calling on our elected officials to protect North Carolinians from gun violence.

Together we can stand up against hate and guns,
