| Fellow American, It’s Claudia Tenney, Republican nominee in New York's 22nd Congressional District, reaching out once again to let you know that my race has still yet to be called – more than NINE weeks after Election Day. We’ve been in court arguing our case to the New York Supreme Court judge overseeing our race for months now. We could get a verdict any day, or we could see the partial recount in the race continue for several more weeks -- even another month. It’s anyone’s guess.
With the new Congress having been sworn-in last week, Republican leaders in DC are counting on me to prevail in my race and become the 212th Republican seated in the U.S. House. Should I be declared the victor in NY-22, Republicans would be just SIX seats shy of taking back the House next year. If we’ve learned anything over the course of the past nine weeks, it’s that every vote counts; every race counts. With the campaign having gone on nine weeks longer than anyone expected, we’ve run out of money to pay our mounting attorneys’ fees. Our campaign’s financial situation has become even more dire since my team sent out a note last week asking for your help to raise $10,000, that at the time would have paid off our legal debts. Not only did we fail to raise the money to pay our attorneys last week – we’ve now incurred another week’s worth of expenses. Won’t you consider a small donation of $5, $22, $50 or $100 or more today to help my campaign continue to afford the best legal representation?
To cede ground to my Democrat opponent, or worse yet, lose the recount because we couldn’t afford to keep our legal team in place would be a travesty. We are paying our legal fees on a weekly basis and desperately need to raise $10,000 by Wednesday evening to keep current on this week’s bills.
