Friends and Patriots,
Considering all that has happened in the past week I regret that it is only now, late on Sunday night, that I've had a chance to write to you. I had a million thoughts to share with you and no time to compose them. Then I thought it might be faster and easier to create a quick video message, and eh... bad hair day. Who wants to be in front of a camera then, right? Yikes! But I'm here now, and I've got lots to share with you. Please read all the way through!
First, you've probably heard that anyone to the right of Bush and Cornyn are being kicked off of social media, including the highest ranking official in the free world, President Trump.
True Texas Project is not immune. Our Facebook page has been banned for life from creating events and advertising, which of course is one of the most important things we do. We worked around that by creating a new Facebook page titled True Texas Project Events. (Please go "like" it). Additionally, my husband Fred has been shut down til Feb 5, and I've been shut down twice in three days! (They shut me down, I protested and was reinstated, and the next day they put me on probation which means certain functions are not available). Tons of you are experiencing the same. We are at least better off than our wonderful friends at Fredericksburg Tea Party who was banned altogether for life. It's infuriating!
So why do we still even want to be on Facebook? Why give them that satisfaction of controlling us? I'll tell you what I wrote in a recent post about people leaving the site...
So I am staying, and if you are too, I hope you will help us boost our visibility in the news feed by liking, commenting, and sharing from our two Facebook pages, and mine and Fran's as well if you so desire.
But wait, there's more...
Here's something else you might be interested to know. Because we are launching a new location next week, we had planned to do a bit of advertising on WBAP. The radio station helped us perfect the message, and we were to begin airing last Friday (Jan 8). On Thursday night I contacted the station asking why I'd not received an invoice yet, as you have to pay in advance. The next morning they informed me that given the recent events, they were not comfortable releasing our ad!
Yes, you read that right. The same radio station that airs Rush Limbaugh and Chris Salcedo was too afraid of the Left to release a simple 15-second ad for True Texas Project! Oh sure, it was ok two days prior, but not after the events at the DC rally. Ridiculous! (What's even more ridiculous is that our meetings this month are interviews with pastors to see how we can work better with churches -- what are they thinking we're gonna do that's so scary???).
But there's good news. Chris Salcedo is our friend and a fan of True Texas Project. So you know what he did? He took 2 minutes of his radio show (more time than we could have dreamed of paying for) to talk us up. The new contacts started pouring in! You can listen to that clip by clicking on the image below:

Additionally, Jonathan Stickland made a post encouraging all patriots to get involved in a local club NOW, and suggested True Texas Project. Between Jonathan and Salcedo, we had over 200 new sign-ups in ONE DAY! And they are still coming in.
We know that it will not be too long before we'll be kicked off at least some social media entirely, so I want to remind you that alternatives are there and we must be ready to use them. From the top left corner of our website you can link to our various social media accounts, and here's a convenient list if you want to go to them now:
There's a pretty good chance that at some point soon our only communication with you will be solely via email. Please, please get in the habit of looking for our messages. Delete what you don't need, but please at least glance to see what we are sharing.
See... I told you I have a lot to tell you, and I'm just getting started!

So, remember above when I mentioned that folks attended our activist training class on Saturday who had not even heard of True Texas Project before? It was packed!

When Fran put out feelers to see if an activist training class would be
well-received, she was told it's a great idea but no one will show. In
the past we have held them and been thrilled to have 25-30 people show
up. Well guess what... Saturday's class boasted 130 citizens giving up 4
hours on a weekend to learn how to change the world! True Texas Project
has 10s of 1000s of followers and we appreciate all of them. But these
people...the ones willing to learn and stretch and DO SOMETHING...they
are my heroes! If you missed this class and are interested in the next one, please email [email protected]. The legislative session is about to start, and we need as many as we can trained and in our army!

Speaking of our army... on Friday this week, we are hosting a Zoom meeting for people around the state to learn about our True Texas Project satellite groups. Our vision is to open across Texas anywhere that we can find good leadership. We don't care if it's 5 people in a living room or 500 people in a convention center -- we want to bring in anyone willing to work alongside us. If you know anyone anywhere in Texas who might be interested in helping to develop and lead a satellite, please have them reach out to me before Friday!
We launch Collin County on Jan 18, and we launch Lubbock County on February 8. Our special guests for both of those events are Stickland, Rinaldi, and Huffines, so please help us spread the word to anyone you know in those locations!

Besides our new launches, we have a ton of great stuff going on. Our speaker calendar for 2021 is nearly complete, our dining club is rocking, and we've got a HUGE event planned for April 17 that you must save the date for! Check out all those things in the left sidebar calendar of this email.
Bottom line? GET INVOLVED! Participate. Volunteer. Train. Donate. You will not regret it. The friends I've made at True Texas Project are salt-of-the-earth, amazing, friendly, faithful patriots. It would be tough to find better people anywhere, and it is an honor to serve with you!
Faithfully,
Julie McCarty
volunteer CEO
PS. I do want to leave you with one more thought...
People keep telling me they are afraid. They see how the world is changing, and it's uncomfortable. But friends, let's look at it in a slightly different way. Consider that we are privileged to be here, at this moment in time, called to do great things. Just as the Apostle Paul said he was honored to be considered worthy to suffer as Christ suffered, I consider it an honor to be chosen to be one to stand strong for truth and justice and righteousness and freedom today. What a rare opportunity to set an example of strength and faith, and God found it fitting to have ME be HERE right now! And not just me, but you too. He's prepared us, and He is still now preparing us. You, my friend, are here for such a time as this. Don't waste it!
