Dear John,
During the High Holidays, we take a moment to reflect on both ourselves and the
shared history of the Jewish people – an occasion that reminds us of our
obligation to extend a hand of welcome to those who need one. Right now, in a
world with more refugees fleeing violence and persecution than at any other time
in history, our commitment to that obligation is as important as it’s ever been.
Guided by our Jewish values, HIAS works every day to provide the support
refugees and asylum seekers need to escape danger and build new lives in safety. We know that you care about this work as much as we do, so we hope you’ll take
a moment to sign our pledge to support refugees and asylum seekers:

Before we celebrate a new year, we pause and recommit ourselves to helping the
oppressed and welcoming all those who are seeking safety and freedom.
HIAS will continue our vital work in the coming year providing everything from
legal aid to resettlement assistance for refugees in their most urgent moments
of need – no matter who they are or where they’re from.
We hope you’ll take a moment to stand alongside HIAS with refugees and asylum
seekers by adding your name to our pledge.

Thank you, today and every day, for all you do to support our work.
