We learned Tuesday that Georgians changed the course of political history in this country at a crucial time. While the rest of the nation doubted Georgia, we knew it was possible to flip the state and we stayed firm in our convictions to finish the job. 

Once again, BLACK VOTERS WERE MAJOR PLAYERS IN SAVING AMERICA. From the urban centers of metro Atlanta, to the exurbs of Rockdale, Clayton and Dekalb, to the rural counties like Early and Baker, the African-American vote blew national analysts and pundits away. YOUNGER VOTERS, too, set voting records. We have them all to thank for making the "impossible" a reality.

What was proven last night is that when you approach an electoral challenge with a solid strategy and an open mind and heart to what voters actually care about, they will fight for you and you can win. 

Georgia Blue Project looked at the data and found that turnout of youth voters and Black voters in rural areas would be crucial to a victory in January. So, we spent the funds granted to us by you, our supporters, and created a strategy and ads to hyperfocus on these demographics ahead of the runoff election. Early data suggests our strategy paid off:

Black voters in the rural counties we targeted voted at 90% of the general election turnout, and MSNBC's Steve Kornacki lauded this performance as one of the biggest factors in Democrats winning both Senate seats.
Youth voters also turned out at levels equal to the general election AND had a higher vote share, 66% compared to 54% in the general, for Democrats than for Republicans.
​​​​​​​The efforts of grassroots organizations have guaranteed American families $2,000 stimulus checks, the beginning of a strategically effective approach to containing the coronavirus, and immediate action on climate change along with other important Democratic initiatives.

But friend, our work is not done. The fight for 2022 begins RIGHT NOW. Already, we can guarantee that Republican operatives will be fundraising and preparing to challenge Senator-elect Warnock's seat, and to change election and voting laws in Georgia to prevent Democrats from making any more gains in the state.
