We are clear. We are connected.
Happy New Year, John.
I’m walking into this year with righteous rage and a whole lot of hope. Yesterday’s failed coup was scary. Read our statement about it. Despite being utterly exhausted, 110 people joined my co-workers and I on a call to stop Line 3. I heard over and over, “I needed to be in community.” And so we were: listening to each other’s stories, singing, and practicing action together.
I left the meeting feeling connected and very clear: to build a different world, one where everyone can live a life of joy and dignity, we need each other, and we must be in deep relationship with each other.
There's so much at stake, and I believe that by building with each other, we can win big. What’s keeping you grounded and hopeful as we head into this new year? Email me and let me know. I love hearing from you!
Tuesday was the start of Minnesota’s 2021 legislative session. TakeAction Minnesota’s priorities this session are COVID-19 relief, care, and climate. Learn more about it all in my blog. We’re going to do great work together this session, I just know it. Don't forget to text ACTION to 79606 to get legislative action alerts and join us!
Our revolution will be joyful. If you’re in need of some rejuvenation, join us at our People’s Sing-a-long next Thursday. Through music, we can restore our spirits and be in joyful community together. I’m so excited to sing with TakeAction members Kestrel Feiner-Home and Sarina Partridge. We’ll also get to sing with the Resistance Revivial Chorus. Their song, This Joy, kept me going through this past election and I imagine I’ll be listening to it often in the days to come.
Hope to see you there!
