John —
Yesterday, white supremacist terrorists attempted a coup at the U.S. Capitol, incited by President Trump and abetted by his Republican co-conspirators in the House and Senate. I was on the House floor when it happened, working with my colleagues to certify November’s presidential election at the time we came under siege. I could not have imagined a darker day for democracy.
The insurrectionists live-streamed themselves savaging the halls of Congress because they knew they would not face consequences from our President.
This is a last gasp for Donald Trump and his Republican co-conspirators in Congress. No one who incites and supports a violent white supremacist coup against our goverment has any business being a public servant at any level. It is a privilege afforded to true patriots, not traitors.
I’ve joined my colleagues in introducing a resolution to impeach the President. I’ve also joined in calling for the expulsion of the members of Congress who helped incite this violence. Please add your name to my petition to stand with us.
We cannot simply forgive and forget a violent insurrection and attempted coup. Letting any single one of these traitors get off easy will only embolden them to try again.
Thank you for standing with me in defense of our Republic.
Onward,
Mondaire
