Politics is about power, straight up. Power to expand access to health care — or strip it away. Power to defend our rights — or trample them. Power to make our voices heard, make our values real, make our lives matter — or tear down everything we've fought for.
So where's our power? In 2016, nearly 92 million eligible Americans did not go to the polls for the presidential election — NINETY-TWO MILLION PEOPLE. We've got to do better.
With so many attacks on our reproductive health and rights, we can't afford to leave a single voter out of the equation.
So, today, on National Voter Registration Day, I hope you'll join me in two simple tasks that will grow our power:

Make sure your voter registration is up to date. Voter registration laws change year-to-year, state-by-state — and that's not even taking into account active voter suppression efforts. So it's always good to make sure your registration is still active — especially if you've moved. I was pretty sure my registration was current, but it still gave me a nice boost of relief when I confirmed it earlier today. Know you're not registered to vote? You can register to vote here. It'll only take a few minutes — seriously! |

Text REGISTER to 22422* to help make sure at least three other people are registered to vote. Pledging to check in with just three people about their registration is an effective way to organize voters and build our movement's power. Amanda on our texting team will help you complete your pledge. |

If you're caught up in the drama of the presidential race, you may be thinking this email is a little early for the 2020 election. But
this is the time.
There are state and local elections in many states this fall. The 2020 primaries start early next year. And every person who confirms their registration now moves us one step closer to major victories next November. Voting, and making sure you're able to vote, is an ongoing process. Let's get on it.
Take a moment, right now, to make sure you and three friends are ready to vote in the weeks and months to come.
