YEAR IN REVIEW
Well a lot happened during this very strange year, both good and bad, and we believe those good things are worthy of some reflection.
We are very excited about our eight Featured Candidates who won their elections this year. This group of hardworking women comes from all over North Carolina and they have a wide variety of experience that will be invaluable as we continue our fight towards making our state reflect our common values. We are excited to see what they accomplish in the NCGA and look forward to keeping the Sisterhood updated on their progress.
This was also our biggest, most diverse in every sense of the word, group of candidates. This shows how many strides we've made in recruiting women to run. Young women, mothers, veterans, all threw their hat in the ring for North Carolina.
The Lillian's List Sisterhood donated a over $200,000 to our Featured Candidates! The Lillian's List PAC donated an additional $125,000 to our candidates. Once again we have demonstrated what our collective investment can achieve for our candidates.
We are also excited to be launching the Lillian's List Foundation in 2021. This organization will expand training opportunities for women interested in running for office and allow an exploration into new and exciting work. Look for more information about this in the spring.
While the legislative election results didn't look how we hoped, we're happy to say that progressive women made waves at the local level. A number of local candidates we consulted with won their elections and the Durham County Commission is now made up entirely of progressive women!
One thing we saw throughout 2020 was the Sisterhood coming together. When the pandemic hit and campaigns became unable to operate normally, our community immediately banded around our Featured Candidates. We suffered a lot of losses this year, but the amount of support these women had while running never faltered. We are so thankful for YOU. For every dollar you donated, every postcard you wrote, every Zoom fundraiser you attended, you made a difficult endeavor for our candidates easier.

We have big plans for 2021. Our virtual event Coffee with Candidates will be on March 26th from 10-11:30AM. Join us to meet the progressive, pro-choice women you helped elect: our former Featured Candidates who are now serving in the NC House and Senate. More details to come. Save the date!
We are also reorganizing our training programs! We'll be offering a brand new slate of trainings for candidates next year. For the moment, all of our trainings will be virtual. Our announcement will go out in mid-January and include more details and ways to sign up. We look forward to connecting with future candidates at our trainings next year!
