2020 has been especially difficult for refugees and asylum seekers. Many have faced homelessness, unemployment, and lack of medical care as the pandemic worsens. With thousands of displaced individuals unable to access the food, clean water, and resources they urgently need, our work for refugees remains vitally important.
As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, HIAS is working to expand our support for refugees in the coming months. Your generosity will help us respond rapidly to situations like the tragic fire in Greece which destroyed the Moria refugee camp — the largest refugee camp in Europe — and left over 12,000 refugees homeless. This past year, we were able to provide legal aid, mental health counseling, and other critical services to displaced families on the ground — and with your donation today, we’ll be able to provide even more for refugees, throughout the pandemic and beyond.
