John,

Just wanted to make sure you saw Mondaire’s email from this weekend.

As you may have heard, the president finally signed the stimulus bill last night — but $600 is not enough. We have our work cut out for us.

We must double down on our efforts to provide real relief to working Americans. If you can afford it, please consider making a contribution to our campaign before the end of the year and help us hit our $25,000 goal. Your grassroots support means Mondaire can get right to work when he’s sworn in — not fundraising. [[link removed]]

Thanks for your support!

Original Message:

I’m reaching out today to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign, if your circumstances allow, before the end of 2020. My team has set a goal to raise $25,000 before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve. It’s our final FEC deadline of 2020.

Let me explain why a contribution — of any amount — will make a huge difference for our movement (but if you’re ready to give, you can use this link: [link removed] [[link removed]] ).

In just 7 days, I’ll be sworn into the 117th Congress, and I’ll immediately get to work to pass legislation that will help level the playing field and give working-class Americans a chance.

2020 has been a rough year for all of us, but the economic impacts have affected the working people disproportionately. Due to the economic policies of the Trump administration and the GOP-led Senate, the rich have gotten richer while everyone else keeps sinking further into uncertainty.

President Trump is threatening to veto the stimulus bill because he finally agrees with Democrats that $600 in direct payments is not nearly enough. With or without the $600, because Senate Republicans stalled negotiations for 8 months, the American people still won’t have the economic relief so many desperately need. This will have devastating consequences, and hundreds of thousands of families could be evicted from their homes even before the next Congress has a chance to send help.

In these unprecedented times, there has never been more urgency to implement real solutions that will not only revive our economy but — as President-elect Biden pledged to do in his campaign — build it back better than before.

That’s going to be a huge undertaking, and one that is going to take 110% of my energy and attention — which is why I’m asking you to contribute to my campaign today.

Your financial support allows me to focus on the work that matters instead of worrying about fundraising for re-election. If you can, please make a donation today to help us hit our $25,000 goal, start 2021 out strong, and allow me to be the progressive champion you expect me to be during these difficult months ahead. Thank you for your continued support. I am so grateful to have you as part of this movement.

Happy Holidays to all who are celebrating. No matter what your holiday looks like this year, I hope you and your loved ones are all safe and healthy.

Onward,
Mondaire
