Hi there,
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell may have formally acknowledged President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, but Sens. Loeffler and Perdue have steadfastly stuck with Trump and his egregious lies about voting fraud.
But many believe that’s for good reason.
As a Georgian GOP strategist interviewed by The Hill explained: “These runoffs are about base turnout, not persuasion. Loeffler and Perdue know that, and so I think they’re probably safer sticking with the president for now. They need him.”
They’re right. But luckily, it looks like the momentum for garnering massive turnout to the polls is on our side. As activist Stacey Abrams told CBS News: over 1.2 million Georgians have requested absentee ballots and “they’re disproportionately voters between the ages of 18 and 29 and disproportionately people of color.”
And that’s why we need to prepare for Loeffler and Perdue to only ramp up their attacks on the integrity of our elections between now and January 5.
