Dear John,

If there is one thing that this year has made abundantly clear — there is strength in collective action.

As a Black woman-led organization based in Washington, D.C., Mamatoto Village provides perinatal support services, workforce development training, and critical resources to women and families of color living in under-resourced areas. We are dedicated to serving communities most vulnerable to health, economic, and social inequities across the metropolitan region.

When Black women flourish, the community flourishes. Everybody wins.

Mamatoto Village invites you to join us in leading from a space of compassion, intention, and disruption with a special gift today.

When you support our work, you can help us provide high-quality and respectful care to our clients, create spaces for community-informed engagement, and dismantle racist systems that continue to harm Black people.

We are stronger together. In 2021 Mamatoto’s advocacy work will focus on eradicating harmful practices and policies that threaten Black women's capacity to thrive. Our goal is to expand our safety net to ensure support for Black women through accessible and comprehensive perinatal care, ensure pregnant people can live in safe and reliable housing, and elevate the voices of our neighbors living in disinvested and under-resourced areas.

The moment is now, and the movement is forever. The urgency for uncompromising policy, systemic change, and justice is reflected in the life of every Black Mama lost, and every child forced to grow up without their presence. It is buried in the hopeless spaces between economic security and food insecurity. And it rests on future generations being able to live healthy and self-determined lives. We cannot wait.

So, what’s your movement at this moment? As allies in action, will you show up in solidarity for radical change?

With a donation of $35 or more, you can help sustain our collective action and invest in our local communities in meaningful ways.

Make a tax-deductible gift today at www.mamatotovillage.org/give.

Thank you for helping to create spaces for healing and truth-telling through justice-centered philanthropy.

In solidarity,

-- Aza
