This has been a year of unprecedented hardships for the refugees and asylum seekers who have left everything behind in search of safety. But we at HIAS are determined to reach displaced individuals wherever they are and help them meet their most urgent needs – and our crucial work is only possible because of committed supporters like you.

Here are just a few examples of what HIAS staffers worldwide have been able to do in 2020 this year:

In 2020, HIAS served 1.17 million forcibly displaced people, directly and indirectly, in 16 countries; provided direct legal aid to more than 33,000., including 9,500 along the U.S. Southern Border in Mexico; disbursed urgent cash-based interventions to over 17,800 people affected by the COVID pandemic in Peru; helped more than 14,400 people worldwide through mental health and psychosocial support services.
