The natural gas compressor Governor Baker rubber stamped in Weymouth is a ticking time-bomb--an environmental nightmare.
And the shocking revelations in the recent Boston Globe Spotlight story ([link removed]) about how the compressor came to be should outrage all of us. Political games, ignoring public health data, sidelining experts, and deleting critical sections of reports are all described in detail, and Charlie Baker is smack in the middle of all of it.
The compressor is due to start up this January. I’m asking you to help us act now to keep this compressor from hurting our planet and our health. Click here to pledge your opposition today. ([link removed])
We’ve sent thousands of postcards and petitions--even spent 211 days sitting in his office trying to meet with Baker. At every turn he’s evaded and insulted us, even dismissing us as “the locals” during a press conference. For 6 years, my organization and I have been fighting back. We’ve watched as the Baker administration has swept health and safety concerns under the rug.
Now, we have the chance to keep this compressor from ever becoming fully operational. Will you show your support by signing this pledge today? This isn’t about politics or money, this is about our lives. ([link removed])
