Dear Friends and Neighbors,

On the campaign trail, I spend a lot of time on our roads and highways traveling across this 57,000 square-mile district.

I see a great disconnect between our rural areas and our cities—some of it's social, but a lot of it’s physical.

I’m not just complaining about potholes here, although my spine has felt a fair bit of those lately. Our roads are so important to life in Rural Colorado, and our elected officials need to treat them with importance.

It's not just my back that'd appreciate good roads. It's small towns in Rural Colorado that live off tourism and the connection to the rest of the state.

From families in Palisade selling their peaches to families in Pueblo selling their chiles—we all are connected to maintain our common rural identity, the thing that people in the cities can't seem to understand about our way of life. It’s equal parts commerce and community.


Every politician pays lip service to roads and infrastructure, and then they get back to partisan bickering in DC. But I don’t think they see the community side of it.

I do. And in Congress, I’ll prioritize our communities by focusing on improving our infrastructure.
