Dear Jack,

I hope you and your family are doing well during these tough times. This will be our last Bulletin of the year -- Happy Holidays, and we will see you in 2021!

Vaccine Updates

Last week, the FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine for emergency use and distribution, and front line health care workers across Virginia have begun to receive the initial doses. Dr. Laura Cook, medical director for StoneSprings Hospital Center's emergency department, is pictured above receiving her first dose of the vaccine.

In even more good news, yesterday the Moderna vaccine became the second COVID-19 vaccine to be approved for emergency use. Virginia is expecting 146,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine to arrive within the next few days. While these initial doses are going out to front line health care workers and long-term care facility residents, I strongly encourage you to receive the vaccine once you are able.
