Hi

It's a busy month for the malaria campaign so here's a quick update on everything we've been up to and how you can get involved this week.
* Malaria Must Die has launched the world's first AR (augmented reality) filter ([link removed]) to make as much noise as possible ahead of the Global Fund Replenishment in October. Try it now and #StopTheBuzz!
* If you're at the UN General Assembly this week, look out for our ads with David Beckham around New York, helping us collect even more voices for the voice petition ([link removed]) . There'll also be a lifesize filter people can experience at Goals House in Central Park.
* Our ambassador and malaria survivor Ash Dykes ([link removed]) finished his record-breaking trek across China.
* The Lancet Commission report ([link removed]) announces that malaria eradication is possible in our lifetime.
* The first ever malaria vaccine ([link removed]) was launched in Kenya last week!

** Stop the buzz with the first face filter to end malaria
------------------------------------------------------------

#StopTheBuzz, the first ever augmented reality (AR) filter to end malaria, launches today at stopthe.buzz. This new Facebook and Instagram AR filter simulates how the power of your voice can help us end malaria!

When you see the swarm of mosquitoes all over your face say “Malaria Must Die” to scare them away - but don’t stop speaking up or they’ll come back, just like malaria does. Tag @MalariaMustDie when you share your Story or post.

** World leaders gather at the UN General Assembly
------------------------------------------------------------
World leaders gather at the UN General Assembly this week marking the start of a critical decade of delivery and action on the Sustainable Development Goals. Malaria Must Die will be representing malaria with a lifesize AR filter at Goals House, Tavern on the Green, Central Park.

** Ash Dykes finished a world record trek with Water to Go
------------------------------------------------------------

Our Special Ambassador and malaria survivor Ash Dykes has recently finished his third world-first trek. In August 2018 he embarked on his greatest expedition yet and he walked the length of the Yangtze’s river in China, a 4,000-mile trek. Ash used his special edition ‘Malaria No More UK’ Water-to-Go filtration bottle ([link removed]) throughout his marathon trek which later got its own special appearance during Ash’s interview on Sky News.

Huge thanks to Water-to-Go for a recent sales drive on the special edition bottle which will lead to a donation of over £1,000 to Malaria No More UK.

** Lancet Commission report: Eradicating malaria is possible
------------------------------------------------------------

The new Lancet Commission report announced last week that we can - and should! - eradicate malaria within our generation. But in order to do so, the malaria community needs stronger investments in development, tools and research. This comes ahead of the Global Fund Replenishment in October where world leaders will make their pledges to the fight against malaria, TB and AIDS for the next three years.

** Did you speak up yet?
------------------------------------------------------------

We need as many voices as possible to call on global leaders to take bold action against malaria. It’s unacceptable that a child still dies every two minutes from an entirely preventable and treatable disease, but we know we can end it and you have the most powerful tool: your voice. It only takes a few seconds to speak up, but it could change millions of lives forever.
