Last Friday, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to fully restore the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. This is a major victory for our nation’s Dreamers and immigrant youth who were brought to the U.S. as minors and are protected from deportation by the program.

DACA was created because we recognize that Dreamers’ home is here. They grew up in the U.S. They pay taxes to help fund our highways and schools. They contribute to our communities every day. Hundreds of thousands of Dreamers are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, risking their health to help keep the country, their home and ours, safe.

Now, we must work with the incoming Biden-Harris administration to find a permanent solution to ensure Dreamers and their families are protected from deportation and have a path to citizenship.

It is our responsibility to speak up on the behalf of Dreamers because their home is here in the United States, the only home they have ever known.
