After a busy month, the presidential transition is officially underway, and Congress is back in session.

At the top of my agenda is COVID-19 relief. Our nation is in crisis and millions of people are suffering as the number of coronavirus cases surge to unprecedented heights. And this holiday season too many families are without enough food or reliable housing amid an economic crisis.

That’s why the House passed the Heroes Act and sent it to the Senate in May – so that families and small businesses could receive urgently needed relief.

We must call on Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans to immediately put the Heroes Act up for a vote. Can you sign my petition now if you agree?

The Heroes Act would provide another round of direct cash payments to families, create a national moratorium on evictions and foreclosures, get hazard pay to frontline workers, and put billions into testing and contact tracing to get this virus under control.

But over 6 months later Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are refusing to do even the bare minimum for the American people and put the bill up for a vote.

With a vaccine likely on the horizon, it is more important than ever to contain the spread of this virus in order to save lives in the long run. And even once the vaccine is available, we will have work to do to ensure an equitable and just recovery.

That’s why the Heroes Act is so critical, and why we need it right now.

Our essential workers, families, and small businesses have had enough of the political games. The time for action is now. Add your name to demand that the Senate pass the COVID-19 relief package that the House passed more than 6 months ago.
