Hi
John,

Giving Tuesday will be over soon, and we're still 43 donors short of
reaching our goal.

Your donation of
$20 or more could be the final gift that pushes us over the top!
You could be the very person to make it happen!

Plus when you donate today, your donation not only supports our work,
it also provides much-needed resources to Mamatoto Village - one
of our local reproductive justice partners that serves pregnant people
in Washington, D.C. and whose capacity is being stretched to the limit
by the pandemic.

Half of your donation will go to helping Mamatoto Village improve
maternal health outcomes for families of color living in
under-resourced areas of the nation's capital.

Can you make a difference for these families today?

Subject: 100 near misses

Dear
John,

For Giving Tuesday today, we're asking you to make a gift that honors
the health and wellness of Black mothers and families.

Our country's maternity care system is failing women -
especially Black women, who are nearly four times more likely to die
from pregnancy-related causes than their white peers. And, for every
life lost, there are as many as 100 near misses that are often
traumatic and involve long-term health effects.

Many of these deaths and complications could be prevented if we lift
up and support community-led solutions to transform maternity care for
women of color.

We know how to solve this problem, but we can't do it alone.

We need your help to reach our Giving Tuesday goal of 200 donors.

Can we count on you to make a generous donation of
$20 or more?

Your donation comes with the added benefit of supporting Mamatoto
Village - one of our local reproductive justice partners whose
services are being stretched to the limit by the pandemic.

Mamatoto Village is redefining Black motherhood and improving Black
maternal health outcomes ... in neighborhoods not that far from
the White House. Throughout pregnancy and for the first six months of
an infant's life, Mamatoto clients receive comprehensive,
culturally relevant services that include health education, care
coordination, labor and breastfeeding support, and counseling.

As someone who cares about women's health and rights, will you
make a generous donation of
$20 or more in support of Black maternal health and reproductive
justice?

Half of every donation - $5 out of every $10 - will go to
helping Mamatoto Village provide critical maternity support and
programs to Black women and birthing people living in disinvested
communities here in Washington, D.C. At the same time, you'll be
supporting our work on the legislative front to improve Black maternal
health outcomes.
