Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I’m sure many of you know how important agriculture is to me. I grew up farming and ranching. As a fifth-generation rural Coloradan, I was raised to be a steward of the land and was taught to care where my food comes from. These beliefs are at-risk for the next generation.

Farming and ranching has a proud history of being passed from father to son, from generation to generation. But that might change. The 2017 USDA Agriculture Census ([link removed]) shows that the average farmer is 57, and there are too few younger farmers to take up the mantle from their elders.

But there’s something we can do. Our leaders can sponsor research and adoption of new AgTech—just like I did in the Colorado House with livestock tracking technology.

There are so many new frontiers for the family farms of tomorrow, from autonomous vehicles to drone pollination. In Congress, I will make sure DC doesn’t forget about the future of our farmers and invests in these new technologies. And I’ll fight to make sure this technology can be used by family farms, not only the big guys.

You don’t hear DC or the media talking much about this, but it’s so important to me. And that’s what my campaign for Congress is all about—making sure our elected representatives stop their petty partisanship and start helping Rural Coloradans.
