Dear John,

ASBC and many of our members and allied businesses have been working hard to support the student strikes. I have heard from the student leaders that they are in need of additional funds given the growing number of strikes. Please see the note from Katie Eder Executive Director, Future Coalition and do what you can to help.

Towards meaningful action

Dear friends ---

On September 20, three days before the UN Climate Summit in NYC, young people and adults will strike all across the US and world to demand transformative action be taken to address the climate crisis. September 20 will be one of the largest climate mobilizations in US history.

As of today, there are 1,000 youth climate strikes registered around the country -- and we expect there will be more

In the US, youth and adults, institutional and grassroots organizations, and climate-focused and social justice groups have come together as a unified front to demand the change we need to save our future -- and we thank you for using your voices as businesses to do the same.

We're also asking today for your donations: as you may know, the Youth Climate Strike Coalition has been overseeing the Youth Climate Action Fund to grant funds directly out to strike organizers across the country. We’ve already granted out over $125,000 to 79 strikes in 33 states thus far!

And not surprisingly, the fund is running out of money AND the requests are still pouring in! So partners, can we mobilize in these last few days to get more money into that fund? We're about $85,000 dollars short of where we need to be for Friday.

Is this something your company may be willing to help with?

Only one more day to go until we take to the streets! Looking forward to seeing you all out there!

In solidarity,

Katie Eder
