Happy Thanksgiving, team!
I know the holiday season looks a little different this year. Some of you might celebrate over Zoom and without family and friends. Too many Americans will have an empty place at the dinner table this year after losing a family member to COVID-19.
My heart and my prayers are with everyone mourning a loss, and with those who cannot be with friends and family during the holiday.
While I am missing my extended family this year, I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude despite a tough year.
I am thankful for my health, and the health of my loved ones. I am thankful for our democracy and our institutions - They were put to this test this election, and because of the strength of this nation and its citizens, we live to fight for a brighter tomorrow.
And I am thankful for you, folks. It's because of this grassroots team that I am returning to Congress to serve the people of Rhode Island's First District. It's because of you that we have elected Joe Biden and held our House Majority. So if you've been reading these emails, volunteering, chipping in a donation here and there - I am so grateful. Thank you.
Celebrate safely, wear a mask, and thanks again for everything.
- David and everyone here on Team Cicilline
