Dear John,

This is not an ordinary Giving Tuesday announcement, because these are NOT ordinary times.

From the coronavirus public health crisis to prolonged economic hardship … from a national racial reckoning to an election season like no other … these concurrent crises have brought stress and suffering of historic proportions — and with it, a historic need for long-term solutions, reconciliation, and relief.

These issues run deep and are greater than one organization can solve alone. That's why we're centering this year's Giving Tuesday on the core values of community, partnership, and healing.

John, I am so excited to announce a special Giving Tuesday partnership with Mamatoto Village — a community-based, Black woman-led reproductive justice organization here in the nation’s capital.

Both the National Partnership and Mamatoto Village share the common goal of ending preventable maternal deaths and complications in this country by ensuring that women — especially Black women — have access to comprehensive, culturally competent care.

Here's how the partnership works:

Half of every donation — $5 out of every $10 donated — to the National Partnership will go to helping Mamatoto Village provide critical maternity support and programs to Black women and birthing people living in disinvested communities here in Washington, D.C.

donate

And because we love this partnership so much, we're not waiting for Giving Tuesday to make it official!

Starting right now until the end of the day on Giving Tuesday (December 1), your donation will support BOTH the National Partnership and Mamatoto Village.

With just one donation, you can provide much-needed support to the front lines of the maternal health crisis AND help advance our work on the legislative front to enact long-term, stabilizing policies that better support growing families, especially for the communities most vulnerable to harmful legislation, practice, and stigma.

Thank you!

My best,

— Debra
