[1]Bowman for Congress
John,
Last night, I was invited on CNN to discuss the Biden transition and the
president-elect's potential cabinet picks.
I began by talking about Rahm Emanuel — who reports indicate could be
Biden's pick for Transportation Secretary — and Emanuel's horrendous
record as mayor of Chicago, from covering up the murder of a Black
teenager, Laquan McDonald, to closing public schools.
And as I was talking,
John, I was cut off from the
broadcast due to "technical difficulties."

While it's unfortunate that I was cut off, one thing is for certain: you
can always count on me to speak my mind and hold our institutions, our new
administration, and the establishment accountable.
[ [link removed] ]I'm heading to Congress to cause problems for the status quo, not to
maintain it. I'm ready to fight for our families and the working class. If
you're with me, can you chip in $3 to help me push for a
progressive agenda in Washington?

And since I was cut off yesterday, here's what I wanted to say last night:
* Appointing Rahm Emanuel — a man who used his position of power to
cover up the murder of Laquan McDonald while he was mayor — is a
harmful mistake.
* As a whole, President-elect Biden's cabinet picks are currently not as
progressive as they need to be. We must appoint diverse leaders rooted
in serving America's working class to represent the whole entirety of
the Democratic party, not just the white and wealthy few.
We have to do so much better than this,
John. And I believe we can —
but we must keep pushing.
I hope you'll join me in holding our elected officials accountable, and I
hope you'll hold me accountable when I get to Congress.
Peace and love,
Jamaal Bowman
