Today marks the start of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), an annual international campaign that begins on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until December 10, International Human Rights Day.
During the 16 Days of Activism, as we raise awareness about GBV, we note the unfortunate fact that women and girls and LGBTQ refugees are particularly vulnerable to violence and oppression. And, as the COVID-19 pandemic deepens economic and social stress coupled with restricted movement and social isolation measures, gender-based violence is increasing significantly.
Join us in calling for an end to the violence by sharing the facts about GBV worldwide.
