Dear John,
As we move into Thanksgiving we need to be reminded of the false rhetoric behind the holiday and the truth behind how this country was "founded" - the white superiority narrative and the claiming of Indigenous lives.
2020 has illustrated so much that’s broken about our political systems. A huge piece of the horror that’s been 2020 is the illumination of a willingness that huge segments of the country have to uphold dangerous and violent white nationalist ideologies. From Project Europa to the Proud Boys to QAnon, a dangerous combination of incendiary messaging from politicians across the country has grown unapologetic and dangerous messaging around white supremacy.
On December 10th, at 4pmPT/7pmET Power Shift Network is hosting a webinar to discuss what folks are seeing on the ground, and the ways that organized white nationalism is deterring our work for a climate justice that upholds the wisdom and value that Indigenous folks across the world can bring to conversations about building sustainability and resilience into our work. Furthermore, with the State on their side, White Nationalists are supporting politicians who are supporting the criminalization of protest, and the hyper-militarized police force, making it even more dangerous for Black, Indigenous and/or people of color and our allies to build power in the streets.

You can register for our conversation, here, which will be featuring:
>> Dylan Plummer: Grassroots Organizer at Cascadia Wildlands
>> Spencer Sunshine, PhD: Researcher, Writer, Activist, Speaker, and Political Consultant
>> Eriqah Vincent: Network Engagement Director at Power Shift Network
I’m really looking forward to this conversation, I hope to see you there!
