Dear John,

Did you see the National Audit Office in the news last week?

They've revealed that any company with a link to a minister, peer, MP, or senior official was TEN times more likely to win a PPE contract. Even worse, these fast-tracked companies often failed to provide suitable protective equipment in the pandemic, despite receiving millions in public money.

But there's a part of this story that hasn't been covered much in the news - the NHS Supply Chain, which is directly responsible for procuring PPE and which has itself been privatised.

Join us this Thursday 26th at 5.30pm to hear the untold story and take action together.

Our report 'Privatised and Unprepared: The NHS Supply Chain' looks at how procurement and logistics in the NHS has itself been outsourced to a mishmash of private contractors, including DHL, Unipart, Deloitte, Movianto and Clipper Logistics.

On Thursday we'll be joined by:
- Our board member and expert on privatisation, Professor David Hall, who co-wrote the report
- Shadow Cabinet Office minister Rachel Reeves MP
- Caroline Molloy - Editor of openDemocracyUK Caroline Molloy, who recently revealed plans for a radical NHS shake up

Nurses, doctors and care staff desperately needed PPE in this pandemic. The needs of staff and patients on the frontline should always come before private companies.

Join us to hear what went wrong and to take action to help hold the government to account now.

Don't let this government get away with incompetence, corruption and cronyism.

Thanks for everything you do and we hope to see you on Thursday.
