| Friends, By now, you have probably heard the news about Purdue Pharma filing for bankruptcy.  You and I both know it's not because they ran out of money.  It's just a way for them to try to dodge thousands of lawsuits by cities and states around the country that have been devastated by the opioid crisis. Maybe you know someone...a friend, a colleague, or even a family member...who has struggled with addiction.  For you, it might be very personal.  I'm here to tell you, it's personal for me, too. Twenty years ago, I entered rehab for an addiction to first generation Ambien, which I was prescribed to treat chronic insomnia.  It would eventually be recalled for being widly addictive. I've been clean for twenty years now, but not without a fight.   You can read about my story here. There is a very real human cost of Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family.  They are trying to take their money and run.  As a Congresswoman, I simply will not allow that. When I am elected, I will hold drugmakers accountable for the damage they do to their victims.  It's personal to me, because I am one of them. Help me get to Congress to stop drugmakers from creating more victims.
