15 years since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and during one of the most devastating hurricane seasons in Louisiana history, this panel will examine the impacts of storms and land loss on people and places across Louisiana’s coast.

Recently premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival, “Closed for Storm” showcases Six Flags New Orleans, which remains abandoned and frozen in time as a grim reminder of the enduring impacts of storm surge and the MRGO to nearby communities. From this theme park to neighborhoods in the Greater New Orleans area to communities across the coast, few places in Louisiana remain untouched by these disasters.

Join a panel including the filmmaker and coastal experts to discuss how storms and coastal land loss have impacted communities and what actions we can take going forward to restore the coast that protects us.
