Last week, HIAS released “Once Refugees, Now Veterans,” a video paying tribute to refugees who have served in the U.S. military. It features the stories of six veterans — including Lt. Cols. Alexander and Yevgeny Vindman (resettled by HIAS in 1979) — all of whom came to the United States as refugees and felt called to serve their adopted country.
We shared the video before Election Day to remind voters and candidates that refugees make vital contributions to America. Today, on Veterans Day, we would appreciate your help in sharing it widely.
