Many thought that this was not possible, that it would take a miracle to flip Georgia blue. 

But it didn't take a miracle.

It was our blood, sweat and tears. Our relentless drive to get our fellow Georgians to the polls. Our determination to send a statement to the defeated Trump administration and the Republican enablers that have infected our federal and state government. And, now it looks like Georgia is in the Biden-Harris column.

Our work isn't over. As sweet as it is to have defeated Trump, Mitch McConnell will still hold the reins of power in the U.S. Senate unless Georgia can deliver in the two Senate runoff elections. As long as that's the case, the best efforts of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to turn this country around will be blocked, just as McConnell did in the first days of President Obama's administration. Georgia can change that by flipping TWO U.S. Senate seats.

All of us with the Georgia Blue Project have been in the Georgia trenches for years. Like many of you, we have been working for decades to bring about this day. Our strategy of supporting State House and State Senate candidates got results with four seats flipped. Our efforts trickled UP the ticket as well, helping to re-elect Lucy McBath, elect Carolyn Bourdeaux and yes, helping push Joe Biden and Kamala Harris across the finish line. And — in what might be the most consequential outcome — we helped put two U.S. Senate seats in play.

We must now prepare for that pair of contentious U.S. Senate special elections. Republicans will fight to hold these seats, but they cannot fathom the fight they will meet in us. Until we seize the majority from Mitch McConnell, our democracy will be stifled. Team, can you chip in $40 — $20 for each Senate race — today?
