To glorify democracy and to silence the people is a farce; to discourse on humanism and to negate people is a lie.” Paulo Freire

Hi John!

It has been a very busy week for Silicon Valley DSA. On Friday we joined with our partner the Coalition to Close the Concentration Camps Bay Area (CCCC-BA), as we went to the doorstep of Palantir's CEO (Alex Karp) and demanded that they cancel the contract with ICE. The CCCC will continue their campaign against Palantir until the contract is cancelled.

On Saturday we had our fall chapter meeting. 60+ comrades came together as we heard from panelists about anti-ICE actions. Members led trainings on canvasing, facilitation, and Roberts Rules of Order. Our working groups lead breakouts discussing their current projects. We also voted on adding a personal leave provision to our bylaws, and approved our candidate questionnaire for the 2020 elections. We finished the day singing Solidarity Forever.

In Solidarity,
Your SV DSA Newsletter Team 🌹
