Convention is fast approaching!
We meet as comrades several times a year. The September convention is the most significant of these meetings because we elect those who will lead us for the next two years. This year a co-chair, recording secretary, tech ops coordinator, treasurer, and political education coordinator are up for election. We will also debate and vote on resolutions that will shape our vision for organizing, and refine our organizational structure.

The thing is, we need YOU. (Read more... ([link removed]) )
Call to Action
Take the Political Platform Survey!
The Political Platform Committee has put together a survey we would like TCDSA members to take ([link removed]) .

This is a great way to weigh in on issues of the chapter’s politics and create a valuable statement of socialist principles! The platform is aimed at serving three distinct functions: 1- as an inward-directed document stating our organizational identity and priorities, 2- as an outward-directed document stating our organization’s ideals and principles - a quasi-manifesto, 3- as a practical tool for discernment in making endorsements in the electoral arena. The more feedback we receive, the more successful we can make the platform!

You can find more specific info about the survey here ([link removed]) .

If interested in helping with this project please contact Kevin M (mailto:[email protected]) .

Run for Steering Committee!
It's that time of year again, comrades: the September convention is September 21st, and that means it's time to start considering whether you are the right person to run for Steering Committee. Find descriptions of the roles up for election here ([link removed]) , and submit nominations here ([link removed]) . The last day to submit a nomination and be included in the packet is Wednesday, September 18th - though of course you can nominate yourself from the floor!

The Fight For 15 At MSP Airport
In early 2015 a fight was raging at the airport between workers on the one side and large corporations and their political supporters on the other over what the minimum wage would be for airport workers. (Read more... ([link removed]) )

With so many great podcasts, articles, books and videos coming out, it's easy to miss something great. Here's a few things we've found and loved recently.
On the Job, 24 Hours a Day, 27 Days a Month ([link removed]) (NYT)
Home health care workers deserve so much better. I'm glad that the NYT profiled the day to day work of one home care worker, but wish they'd talked more about the unionization campaigns and other organizing home care workers have done to demand fair treatment! - ARB

The Dig: Our History Is the Future with Nick Estes ([link removed])
This is a great (and long!) interview with the author of the recently published Our History Is the Future: Standing Rock Versus the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the Long Tradition of Indigenous Resistance. - ARB

Funding Abortion with Seneca Joyner ([link removed])
Another great interview, this time with a Black Muslim anarchist historian abortion funds community organizer in Philly. - ARB
